1216 code?

    1216 code?

    Car runs like crap. Idles around 500 rpm and stalls if you give it throttle. Checked stomp test codes and got 1216 - Throttle Potentiometer. Would replacing this fix my problem?

      Yes, that sounds like it could be the TPS.

      While you are there be sure to check the wiring on/to the plug.

          I pulled the tps off the throttle body and took it apart. no obvious damage or wear that would cause a malfunction but i think it is original because it had "made in w. germany" on it. I have a new TPS and ICV on order so we will see if that fixes things.

              Did you pull the wire relief off of the TPS plug and wiggle the wires? Because of the angle the plug connects they are prone to breaking and the spade connectors.

                  This is exactly what happened to me, wire broke at TPS connector. It would have taken me much longer to find the problem without searching R3V.
