    Yet another ticking thread

I know this topic has been beaten to death, but I was hoping I could rule out some things with specifics which don't seem consistent with the info I'm seeing.

Ticks constantly, cold or hot doesn't make a difference, it seems to be a single tick and comes from the middle of the engine(almost sounds like from the intake manifold really) and moves changes along with the engine speed. Engine otherwise runs great and isn't lacking power at all.

Most of what I'm seeing(and my experience with other cars) with lifters is that it will change go away with as the engine changes temperature. Bent valves will make the engine run poorly correct? I'm thinking possibly the oil pressure release valve or maybe a fuel injector, but is lifter still a possibility with this info? Or am I making incorrect assumptions on any of this?

Constant, and it speeds up relative to the rpms, as far as I can tell it never goes away.

I'm 95% sure it's not coming from the chain, it's too far from that area. That being said, I doubt they've been touched and are at 200k+. I did put in a new tensioner and nothing changed. It's a very consistent tick, not a rattle like a loose chain.

Are you running low on oil? It sounds similar to the sound mine was making when it was running a quart low

Lifters can get noisy when your oil is low. But oil level makes no difference here.

I'll probably do that when I get a chance, seems like the easiest thing to check anyway
