Hey guys... new here... Done a lot of researching on this topic since it's the issue that my car had when I got it. Originally the temp gauge would be around 1/4 to the 1/2 mark, while idling it would go up to the 1/2 and driving would come back down to 1/4 so I thought it would be a thermostat. Changed it out yesterday and while I was there did my water pump too since I also had a coolant leak thought just to eliminate seals in that area... now however, this morning was the first chance I got to take it out to church. Now while driving temp goes up while driving reached a hair over 3/4 and idles a hair above 1/2. I bought the thermostat kit from Bav Auto and got sent a 92c thermostat... I did some more research and read that coolant should be coming out of the bleeder screw when I open it? Only air comes out of mine...not enough coolant?

Yep, add more coolant/distilled water and bleed some more. I frequently bleed the system by filling the overflow reservoir to the very top several times. You can always bleed off the excess.
Interesting that it idles at 1/2 and when moving it increases to 3/4. Perhaps your fan clutch is bad, or your fan/alternator belt is not tight.

ok i think it was the fact that I didn't have the coolant topped off... filled the overflow and let it run till coolant started to come out of bleed screw. Drove home without any huge variations like this morning... temp gauge stays at about a mm over half which I attribute to the 92c thermostat... which I will probably change out... again T_T thanks for the help.
