Hello everyone,
I have a 91 318i that went through an earthquake and got more then a little messed up.... I have 90% of the issues resolved (6 months later) but I'm stuck now. The quake ripped the bottom nut off of the driver side engine mount (It jumped out of the subframe and forward towards the radiator) and tore the passenger side mount in half. The engine is sitting forward and is tipped up in the front. I am trying to remove the mounts so I can attempt to pry the engine back towards the fire wall into position and then drop it back onto the new mounts. I can not get the top nut off of ether mount. The passenger side is stuck between pipes in the manifold (Where I cant get a good angle on it) and the drive side has stuff all around it. Is there a tried and true method for removing these? Or do I really need to dismantle half my engine compartment to get the mounts out?
