Okay so I've got oil everywhere imaginable. It's on the walls of the intake box, the intake boot, the throttle body, the intake manifold and I see a bit on the head. Why??

Only way to find out is to degrease your engine.
No need for detail
But just so you are able to see where the leak (if any) is coming from.
My friend took his car once to a lube shop for his engine oil.
And the tech forgot to put the dipstick back
Sounds like this could be the case.
But just to be sure
Go ahead and clean it up first before jumping to any conclusions.

He is saying that there is oil on the inside of the intake tract.
This is normal.
This will be exacerbated by an oil separator (in the VC) gasket failure. This may be ameliorated with the use of a heavier weight oil.
An ideal solution might be an oil catch system in line from the VC outlet to the TB hose, which is where the oil originated in the intake system & hoses.
