    Chain's tight, cams don't spin.

Is the crank broken, or just the crank timing gear?

I found these pieces behind the upper chain case cover:

I'm not quite sure what you mean. I believe all 3 of those parts make up the upper part of the chain guide on the driver's side of the engine. The crank doesn't have a timing gear, the only gears are the 2 cam gears, the idler, and the crank gears.

WTF? The gear on the crank has a timing chain wrapped around it, so that makes it a timing gear on the crank.

The parts did come from the chain guide.

Thanks for the valve offer, but I already have a replacement M20 and Getrag 260.

A large slice of the chain guide got jammed between the crank gear & the chain, and broke the chain.

This has been a learning experience.

Shouldn't be that difficult to take the front end apart. I took care of everything in one day.

It wasn't a problem (except for the crank pulley). Everything came apart easily.

The only real problem has been a lack of parts for my replacement M20.
