Took about 10 minutes to swap in the new tensioner today because my engine was a bit chattery lately. i put the new one in and the car is only slightly quieter. it still sounds like a can of marbles, not loud but noticeable, above 4000rpm. what else could this noise be? or is the m42 is known for being loud quote true?

Its very difficult if you dont exactly know where the noise is coming from.
Roll a card board to a size of your finger and try to listen from it on all points where you think the noise is and let us know where the louder noise is.2002 C200 KOMPRESSOR

It really could be anything. The worst it could be would be a broken rail or guide.Comment
