    I Need A M42 Motor Asap!!!!

    Need M42 in good running condition with lower miles!

    I would look for an e36 m42, they are easier to find with low miles and you can just swap over the e30-specific parts (oil pan, intake, ect.)

        Sorry to threadjack but add me to that list. My M42 dropped a valve in teh 3rd cylinder last week.

              yea, i heard a terrible rapping noise coming from the engine and it simply shut down. Proceeded to restart it and got another terrible clanking noise.
              I removed the sparkplugs and there were chunks of metal on top of the 3rd cylinder.
              Im gonna pull the head and see whats going on. As well as post pics.

                There's a head for sale with 140k over on M42. Don't know if that would help.

                      I have one on Ebay right now, it had the head done in '05. It runs very well, and if you want to drive it, we can piss off my entire subdivision with it (I took the exhaust off of it yesterday).
