[ Fuel Leak! ] - What size fuel hose do I need??

I smell a fuel leak under the hood. Not sure where yet. I figure I'd pick up some fuel hose on the way home from work and dig into it.

I've searched the forums and didn't find the answer. I don't have my e36 Bentley on me.

    1) What diameter(s) fuel hose do I need? (Can I use a roll of HP Fuel line or do I need to order the BMW parts $$$? )
    2) Are there any places I should look first? (known problem areas)
    3) Do I need specialized hose clamps?

Hope to take her on a trip this weekend.

    Thanks!!!!!

    1) 8x13 metric fuel injection hose if you can source it locally, or if you can only find SAE, 5/16" fuel injection hose from Advance Auto ($5/ft, 5 feet will take care of the entire job). SAE 30R9 is the rating you're looking for.

    2) Most likely the feed lines from the driver's side frame rail have started to crack. Sometimes the lines have already been replaced, but they are often replaced with non fuel injection 30R6 hose, which fatigues easily and cracks within fairly short order.

There are these little sections of hose underneath the manifold as well, where the hardlines meet the fuel rail. They're like 2.5" in length.

    3) Yes, there are fuel injection hose clamps available at Advance Auto / Napa as well.
