    Knock Sensor Question

So reading up on how a knock sensor works and was wondering if you can install one on the m42 and link it to the computer so that it will Automatically advance the timing or do i need a custom ecu for this?

    Cheers

the ecu will not know what to do with the signal unless it's been programed to do so. You will need MS/piggyback or something... donno what really but SOMETHING

btw computers retard timing, not advance, when knock occurs.

Yeh that what my guess was yeh i know they retard the timing when knock occurs but will advance till it dose happen so i can get as much power out of the engine. Cheers.
