My flywheel is the JB Racing flywheel from Turner. You can get a chip from a lot of people. Turner, Bimmerworld, Dinan, Conforti, Ebay, and so on. Search for information here, there are tons of people who make chips.

I love my 318is, easiest motor to work on, and I have no problem keeping up with faster cars in the turns on the track, straights are another story, but it doesn't bother me.

I just calculated the mileage I got on my last fill-up. I've been driving the piss out of it too. It's been mostly highway driving, but I do 85-90 mph on the highway, so I'm cruising at about 3800-4000 rpm. Off the highway I havent driven much slower than 55 mph.

I averaged 30 mpg, what the hell.? I was thinking 23-25 at best.

I usually average 34-36 mpg in the 318is, because I usually drive very conservative. The flow of traffic has been very fast this holiday season.

Mine still has the 4.10. I've been thinking about putting in a close ratio gearbox with a 3.46 rear end or something similar. But that wouldnt help my mileage..

I really like the m42 power-plant and the car balances very well with it. The M42 requires less maintenance (however, it will not suffer any neglect with out complaining in the worst way...).

The only real modifications the 318is needs for a daily driver is a lighter flywheel and Steve Dinan's software. With these you can run the 3.73 without any "off the line" loss and I have had some reports of 34mpg plus with this setup.

If your not worried about acceleration I recomend putting a 3.73 dif on the car.. I swapped out my 4.10 open dif and on the highway it makes a huge difference....
