Weird tapping, clicking, sound from motor

Started happening a little while ago but thought nothing of it till someone today told me it didn't sound right.
sounds almost like a popping sound i guess

It increases with engine speed and is still heard when engine is cold or warm

Check if your spark plugs are coming loose.

Woah....Compression-related on only one cylinder, from the sound. I think DC's right.

The sound went away as i tightened one of the spark plugs but just as it was getting tight it spun loose again. um so i tightened it just a little less and it seemed okay.
would that mean that i stripped the threads?

Pull the plug and check. Be careful not to get bits of thread into the combustion chambers.

How much did you tighten them last time? It's only really supposed to be hand tight + half a turn...

Sounds stripped to me :/. That's exactly what my cam cover bolts do...
