more head woes

so my head is coming back from one machine shop, who welded the crack, and the other machine shop will do the plane and valve job
they said that the head was out .05
Is taking this much off the head an issue ?

So how much did the welding set you back? I'm interested in possibly repairing a head I have here if the price was reasonable.

I was wrong with how much they are taking off the head

getting the crack fixed was 125
now I have the machine shop grinding the valves and seats
