    Idles at 3-4k?

    Hi R3v

Long time no post--been busy with my latest toy, an e92.

I let the e30 sit in the garage all winter and now it's giving me some trouble. Just started it and the idle jumped to 3k and kept slowly creeping up to 3800 or so. Car hasn't been driven since October and the battery died, it was sitting without a battery for a few months. For the last week I've had a battery installed and hooked up to a tender. I replaced the lower oil pan and motor mounts in the time that it's been sitting, and removed+reinstalled the airbox to get to the driver's mount.

    Any ideas?
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

Clearly way too much for a vacuum issue. Assuming you have no codes now is the throttle or throttle cable stuck? If it's not, first start with checking the IACV and then methodically unplugging engine management devices one at a time until the idle issue goes away.

Good to see another old user back on r3v!

Hi! Thanks for the reply. My first thought was something must be stuck in the throttle body or pushing on the pedal. Both were clear

Stomp test said 1444, unfortunately. I'm hoping it'll throw a code by the end of the day and point me in the right direction. I'll start unplugging things and see if anything helps/changes (or doesn't change)

Hi R3v, solved this one. Throttle cable housing was caught right before it enters the throttle body and pulling on the cable. Adjusted it and it runs perfectly :)
