Are all m20 transmissions interchangeable ? For instance does the m20 single cam tranny(325e) tranny swap with the m20 daul cam325i?

The short answer is yes. You can use the transmission from a 325e(M20B27) in a 325i (M20B25), but not the other way around. An M20B27 engine has its timing reference sensors mounted in the bell housing, which is why you can't use the transmission from an M20B25 on a 325e as there's no place to mount the sensors.

As an FYI: both engines are single overhead cam.

Thanks for the info man! And I was just going off what a friend told me about the cams... Guess he doesn't know what he's talkin about..haha
