who's bought a new driveshaft from bmw?

just wondering if anyone actually does this? does it come complete with guibo, center bearing, pilot bushing? is it new or remanufactured?

i wonder if it's worth it over a rebuild?

A BMW drive shaft would be nice, but I don't know if it is the best option. A re-manufactured unit from Driveline Service of Portland might be better. The U-joints have grease zerks installed so you can lubricate it, and they are more affordable.

Both would work well, it just depends on how much you want to spend on one.

i understand how aftermarket rebuilds work. ive done my research. here in canada, it will cost me roughly 400$ for a rebuild, which doesnt include guibo, center bearing, pilot bushings, bolts, nuts, etc.

im looking more for info on an OEM replacement, what it includes, and exactly what it is. if it includes everything, i might be willing to pay a lil more for a new OEM part vs a questionable rebuild.

I have not bought one from BMW but I had one quoted at $818 from the stealer. I doubt it comes with guibo and CSB.

I've used many, they do come with a flex disc etc. Pretty much the way we do it at the shop.

New (so far) no core, it has been at least a year since I've done one on an e30, don't know if anything has changed (doubt it would change because it was BMW that said the U joints weren't replaceable in the first place).

FWIW, I just went with a rebuilt one through MESA performance. It was less than $400 total.

New u-joints, new CSB, balanced, flat black painted.

I used driveline of portland, $485 with 100 refundable when they get your core.

Came with a new CSB and bolts, but I don't think it came with a guibo.

Patrick @ BMA quoted me around $650 for a new BMW driveshaft.
