    Shifter Rebuild Off Center

    Hey All,

I've done a bunch of searching but can't seem to figure out whats going on. I have also looked at pictures of my shifter vs others online and it definitely looks to be leaning to the right.

    Car: 08/1990 325i Vert

Work done: Pulled transmission, new clutch, flywheel, TO bearing, rebuilt shifter with Turner kit, new transmission bushings. I got it all back in last night and the shifter looks as pictured below.
What I've tried: Selector arm on driver side v passenger side. Flipping shifter 180 degrees. Then it just sits like its in 4th gear.

It shifts beautifully, it just is driving my OCD nuts. And I am doing a full underside restore and don't want to get it all back together to find out it can be fixed.

Here is a link to a subreddit video that looks like the same issueI am having: Click image for larger version

maybe install the trans mount and see how it sits?

Idk if your mount is also not installed like the pic from reddit.

In the first pic you can see the left ear for the left mount is higher than the right.

Ahhhh, good call! Ok, great, I am waiting on the hardware, I'll report back after I get it all installed.

Yep, you were right! Shifter is rebuilt, transmission is filled. Now just finish the rear subframe and she'll be good to drive!
