Upper Cup Bushing Woes (Early Model Shifter)

Alright Alright, I'm nearly done with the 1.9 shifter install but the upper cup bushing is way too far on the top for the spring and spacer to compress enough for my snap ring to be installed, Is it possible to just ditch the bushing or is there a another way for this to be done?

Figured it out, The bushing was too far up and I just took it out, Installed the spring and spacer and it works fine, For anyone else dealing with this, the spacer will act as the "bushing"
