How to seal kickdown cable leak????

Getting ready to install a replacement auto trans in the wife's car, but the o-ring for the kickdown cable is leaking. How hard is it to replace this? I've searched and not found anything re this.

you didn't find anything on it because we trow away auto trajics all day. That o-ring shouldn't be too hard to replace, just pull the housing out of the tranny, unhook the cable end swap your o-ring and go to town.

I know, I know, I tried to talk her into a 5 spd swap, (she can drive a manual) but she said she just wanted a trans that worked and keep the cost down.

My question is, how do I get the cable out to replace the o-ring? I'm guessing I'll have to drop the pan, but what else exactly to remove the cable?
