Ok, I'm new here, been looking around a bit though.
I have a problem, I'm not too knowledgeable about e30's, I just bought a '89 325i (US Spec) and after a month of driving it heard a noise from around the tranny like a clicking when the car is idling and not in gear. I was thinking it was a throwout bearing. So I got a new clutch kit and was going to take it to a local shop and get it put in. Before I could do that the car would occaisonally deny me going into a gear, I would have to let the clutch out and put the clutch back in, sometimes multiple times to get the car into a gear. The problem got worse a couple days when I would put it into 1st and then release the clutch, the car seems to not want to go, almost as if the parking break was engaged.
My question really boils down to this...
Can a bad clutch/throwout bearing cause all this or am I going to be looking to replace the transmission?
Thanks in advance,
Eric
