    bad master/slave cylinder

my pedal isn't coming back up and its been getting worse. the pedal is basically touching the floor and my clutch is useless, however the clutch is not slipping at all.

im kinda new to cars so my research has led me to the following:
does this mean that the master cylinder is leaking/broken?
is the problem the slave or both cylinders?
could it be caused by a lack of fluid or air in the system?

im kinda in a money crunch, i know i should probably replace the master and slave but if its only one of the two that would cause the symptoms id rather not replace both. please help me out here.

thanks. your help is appreciated as i cannot use my car right now because i have no clutch.

Pull the slave off the trans and check it out. See if its leaking, Check all of your lines and go from there..

If the slave and lines aren't leaking, the master cylinder is bad.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
