For the M20 drifters. What diff are you using?

I was wanting to know which diff you're using. I have the 3.73 right now but coming from my e36 with a 3.15 it's really throwing me off with the short gearing. my rack is blown right now so i haven't got the chance to try yet but for my 2nd gear drifts in the e36 i think i might have to use 3rd in the e30. What are your guys experience with this?

I'm no expert or anything but my guess would be a 3.91 or a 4.10

3.73 lsd. Nothing else i would suggest. And ive been sliding for over 5 years. If you have a n/a m20 i wouldnt suggest anything lower.

Yeah I run an NA M20 with nothing but a 2.5 inch exhaust. 3.73 is the best.
You can slide in 2nd gear all day. 3rd gear I lose to much power and 1st is just way to short..

for now i have n/a m20 w/ a chip and exhaust leak. I'll be doing a M52 or S50/52 swap in the next year.

e30gangsta are you in the orlando area? have you done any events?

I have a 4.10 with a completely stock m20. I can slide even when my tires are hot.

my suggestion would to drop in a jet engine, their sometimes a little slower off the line but once you get that sucker spooled its physically impossible to go in a straight line............hahaha no but seriously i have to go with the 3.73 especially if your going to drive it home afterwards, its a great gearing to keep the tires spinning and ripping around windy roads, but not so low that you get pissed when you have to drive down the freeway

Is it possible to 100% welded lockup the factory's?

4.10 lsd with stock motor, but I wouldn't be against using a 3.73.
