    now the 325e has it in the actual bell housing, but does an 325?

    If by 325 you mean a SuperETA or a 325i/is, then no.

      The basic 325 is an eta too, so the answer is yes, it's in the bell housing.

        wait so these are conflicting answers?

        i mean, i can play it safe an just get a tranny from a 325e but i want to make sure i do rip the sensor out when i drop the tranny.

          afaik if it's a straight 325 or a 325e the reference sensor and tdc sensor are in the belhousing i don't think that the later models have the correct holes in the bellhousing for the sensors not positive on that though
