Cold start up + 1st gear + accelerating from stop = jerking ???

Recently I noticed this problem and figured that maybe the clutch just needed to get warmed up similar to how some brake pads don't stop as well until they are warm. To recap, here is what happens:

    1. I start the car after it's been sitting over night (temps are not extreme)

    2. I put the car into 1st and feel the clutch engage

    3. While giving the car gas, the car jerks slightly forward and back (feels like the clutch isn't grabbing completely)

    4. Symptoms go away when car is warm and/or has been driven for a little while.

This very same thing happens with my buddy's 318ti, though I'm not sure whether the problems are caused from the same thing. I haven't done any work on the clutch or related components. Perhaps the fluid needs changing?

    Thanks in advance.

Sometimes thats caused by air/bad fluid in the clutch system. But ive never heard of it being that bad. You might try bleeding the slave or replacing the fluid all together.
