    Replacing Shifter Bushing

    Hello,
Well I bought the shifter bushing kit from Pelican Auto and went to start the replacement today. This is what I found:

Call me crazy, but shouldn't there be a shifter arm above the shift selector rod...

I've been driving this car since April and the shifter has always been sloppy but still manageable.

    Thanks for the help.

You have an early car with a sheet metal console.

I did a complete rebuild on mine and it was way worth it, pics with part numbers are here http://www.briangt.com/gallery/album71
