    What flywheel?

I'm doing a five speed swap and need to know what flywheel I need for my 89' 325i production date is 12/88. realoem.com says it takes a twin mass but I keep getting told I have the wrong one. Will I be able to tell immediately when I go to put it on? Im pretty new to transmissions so I dont really know.

You can use any flywheel with the right combination of parts (clutch, pressure plate, and throw-out bearing). You should have a single-mass flywheel for that car though. M20B25i motors didnt come with dual-mass flywheels anywhere as far as I know, and definitely not in the States.

^^But automatics dont have flywheels, just flex plates and torque converters. Havent seen a dual-mass flex plate before, but it could happen.

Any flywheel from a E30 325i/is/ic is what you want. They are single mass.
