    Shifter sloop help

Hey, I'm new to the forum. I just picked up a 1987 325e. The shifter is sloppy as hell. It hits the console in reverse. I found a rebuild kit on pelican parts

    http://www.pelicanparts.com/BMW/cata...Tshift_pg1.htm

Has anyone tried this kit? is it overkill?
    Thanks

Hey man, I see you are new here, so I will be gentle: USE THE FUCKING SEARCH BUTTON!

DON'T MAKE A NEW THREAD BEFORE A THOROUGH SEARCH!

But yeah, that is a fine pile of parts, and the job isn't too bad.

Welcome to R3V, your new home.

I would take it apart and only replace what you need, the kit comes with some stuff that won't make it any better. Like clips and such, if you have the sheet metal console (dont remember which ones do) then I don't believe you need the rear support. Also good time for a short shift kit! The bushings on the lever itself can't be replaced and can break in half, so replace it to if you have the funds.

here is some info on that
