    getrag 260 clutch woes....

I've been having a problem with my gearbox for a while and was pretty concrete set on replacing the gearbox. The problem was the damn car would stick in gears, and wouldn't come out of gear unless you turn off the car while stopped, then push the clutch back in.

After thinking about it for a while, I am starting to think that the clutch master cylinder might be shot, and isn't holding its hydraulic pressure. If I set at idle, with the clutch all the way down, the rattling of the input shaft shuts up, but keep holding it for 20-30 seconds, the rattle comes back. Same thing with feeding it a gear. It will go in at first, but once you hold the clutch down for 20 seconds or so, it wont accept the gear either.

Setup is m20b28, alum. flywheel, s14 pressure plate, m50 disk, and m20 TOB. Car is a converted 5 speed, with all used hydraulics, but I replaced the slave with a new one.

The clutch pedal travel makes a creaking sound as well, but im really not sure whats causing that either.

What you've describes sounds a clutch hydraulics problem.

Check the slave and lines for leaks, if none are found, replace the clutch master cylinder.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
