bought a new OEM driveshaft, remove vibration damper?

i just received my brand new driveshaft from BMW. looks freakin clean :)

however, it comes with a vibration damper ring, and im hesitant to remove it. will it work with a short shifter + dssr?

If it were mine, I'd remove it.

How do you actually remove it. I have my drive shaft out and I am not sure of the best way to do it, as it looks like it is really on there tight.
