Why does my car seem to be stuck in gear?

I've pushed my project car around for a day, maybe 60 feet in total, 30 forward and 30 back. I pushed it forward into the garage, and now it won't go back. The wheels are stuck and the transmission clangs when we rock the car. The driveshaft was installed when I rolled it back, and also when I rolled it forward. The car is FOR SURE in neutral, says the shifter. NO gears allow the wheels to move more than three inches either way. Please, oh Gods of R3v, help me!

I bet that handbrake siezed, you should pull the back wheels and brakes off. The latch prolly rusted and locked up on you.

Are you guys serious? I rolled it one day, left it in the garage two days and tried rolling it again. Rusted that quick? 20% humidity both days, zero rain. Rust?

You guys are fucking awesome. I had my doubts as to what you suggested, but I took it all apart, figured that wasn't it, and by the time I had the wheels back on the mother fucker was rolling around. Thanks a lot guys for the input.

I replaced my latches that are on the ends of the handbrake cables, along with the handbrake rebuild kit. should be good for another 20years heh...
