    Who can setup my diff?

I've checked with the guys at Diffsonline and they are asking $1295 to change the gears to 3.15 and install the torsen style LSD I have. I have the 3.25 gears and was thinking of dropping it down to get better 70mph revs...

I didn't have any luck with the local diff shop here; they couldn't get the correct back lash with the factory shim kit or the shims that were on the diff I took them.

I didn't realize it would be so difficult to do this, or I wouldn't have even bothered.

There's a reason why Diffsonline charges what they do...
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Actually I found out we can use the diff out of ANY Z3, and they have several ratios available, from 3.07 up to 3.46. And they ALL have limited slips!

So I found one and bought it, will be here Tuesday...less than $200.

According to BMW all the Z3's with the 6 cyl came with a limited slip. I didn't know it until I found a thread with the factory information package to the dealers describing all the features of the cars when they came out.

Most have the Torsen, MZ3's had clutch type.

Maybe that's why... some e30 gurus have been secretly making "banks" on "sacred" parts and goodies for E30.
