    Trans Fluid Type?

Ok..ive got a '92 E30 convertible w/ a manual trans (Gertrag 260)..NO sticker on the side of the tranny...

The BMW TIS says tranny with NO STICKER I need a ALL mineral based trans oil SAE80 API-GL-4 oil...

or Single grade Heavy duty Mineral oil based eng oil SAE 40/30 or 20 weight

It also says "Never fill w/synthetic engine oils or multi grade- since these oils contain coefficients of friction agents that can affect operation of the synchro mesh"

All this being said-- WHAT OIL should i use... looking for something that i can pick up local, if possible.

I used some Amsoil 75W90 that I had laying around for mine, make sure if it has yellow metal (brass) synchros, which it asks for GL-4 so it probably does, do NOT use GL-5. Lots of guys like Redline MT90 or MTL, but you'll probably have to order it online.
    paint sucks

I was thinking about using Royal Purple Max Gear 75W90...which is the same as the Redline MTL 90..only because I can pick it up local...
