Changing clutch. Question: Necessary to remove CSB?

Changing the clutch on my 86 325e. Currently in the disassembly process and it looks like I can possibly get away with removing the trans without removing the CSB.

Can I pull out the guibo and suspend the front drive shaft from the body so I don't have to pull the CSB?

I don't want to pull the CSB if I don't have to. Looks like the drive shaft was replaced in 95 (sticker on drive shaft) and it hasn't been giving me trouble, so I don't want to mess with it if possible.

The CSB stays pressed onto the front half of the drive shaft, there really isn't anything to screw up by pulling the front half of the drive shaft with the CSB. You could probably do it without pulling the DS but I am sure you will be cursing yourself for doing so. Just support the rear half of the DS so it's not dangling by the u-joint/resting on the tranfer tube between the two gas tank halves.
