Interesting, how do you like it on the freeway?

Kind of off topic but would any of you happen to know what size socket is needed for the nut that holds the steering wheel in? Mine came with a cheepo Grant one and I just found out there's nothing holding it in while driving it. -____-

Yup, deep 22mm. But wait, do you need the nut or the socket?

I had abit of a nightmare with this issue.. With pleasing results! Be sure to read through my old threads about changing a diff from a e28 into my e30:

3.25 is great on the freeway. Before the swap with the 2.9, 5th gear was pretty useless unless you were going 85mph +. With the 3.25 I have plenty of pull in 4th then cruise in
5th like I feel it should be. Also some people will tell you 1st gear is useless when you go above the 3.25.....I can imagine that to be pretty acurate.

Well I needed to know the size so I know what to bring to the pickapart. I effing lugged my 1/2 snap on cordless impact there and got the nut and lost the damn thing when I was pulling harnesses out of a Mk3 Jetta.

Thanks for those links! I'll give them a look over in the morning.

Oh and I found an 325is at the yard with an LSD (well it was the only one where both wheels turn in the same direction and doesn't make a nasty clunking/scraping noise) on Thursday but only had my sockets, allens, screw gun and impact with me and it looked like I needed wrenches/ratchets to remove the driveshaft and the mounting bolts/nuts.

Where on the case does it say the gear ratio? On the top?

on a steel tag bolted to the front, in most NE yards, they are rusted off
