    Sport mode?

Well my e30 is an automatic sadly and I have park reverse neutral drive then an S which I assume stands for sport then the 3 2 and 1. So I was wondering if the sport really does something? I didn't get a good chance to run it but I did have it in the S and it wasn't that big of a difference. Just wanted to clarify.

my car doesn't have sport mode on the transmission but I'm pretty sure it just gets rid of overdrive and holds the gear longer or something.

^ what he said. It pretty much just keeps the overdrive from engaging. They stopped putting the "S" on the identi-plate and just put a "4" there after mid '88 IIRC...

My first e30 was an early '88 model with the "S" Auto.
