is a 6 puck clutch good?

so i'm looking at an e30 and either i can get it with a tranny or without. he's charging me an extra $400 if he gives me the tranny. he said its rebuilt with a 6 puck clutch. is that really good? is it worth an extra $400 or should i just get the car and get my own used transmission?

$400 for a rebuilt gearbox and 6 puck sounds pretty good, is it sprung or unsprung? Machined flywheel? Is the pressure plate balanced?

Whats a 6 puck clutch do compared to a regular clutch? Is that like a higher stage clutch or something?

if it comes with flywheel pressure plate its a good deal but for just a 6 puck...ahh i would pass i picked mine up for 2 something and had my flywheel lightened an resurfaced total into clutch an flywheel was about 350

You need to know more info to know if it's a good deal or not. If it's just a stock flywheel and pressure plate with a 6-puck clutch disc thrown in, I'd pass. If it has a lightweight flywheel and a good pressure plate, it becomes a better deal.

Also, have you ever driven a car with a pucked clutch? You may not even want a 6 puck clutch on it. It's not the most fun to drive around on the street. It's very grabby.

Yeah, well, driving with a puck clutch takes some getting used to. I've been driving a manual trans since I was 11 years old and I stalled my friend's S13 at least four times when I tried to drive it around. But after about 10 minutes of driving I was good. You get used to it. Just don't expect anyone else to be able to drive your car easily.

6puck means nothing w/out knowing who the manufacturer is.

                      lets consider this
seller installed this super great clutch, and now wants to sell it ?- unlikely he spent quality parts, or they would say. "theres a clutchmaster setup w/ 13lb flywheel, machined to spec for a smaller pedal throw and all the seals were replaced, yada yada....(eng seal, 3 tranny seals, short shifter, etc)

                      so.
here, w/ just a 6 puck clutch, i would pass.
                      get another one.

if you don't know what you have, dont pay extra for it.

very true to just say 6 puck clutch is very vague. if i was trying to sell it and had a bunch of work done to it i would have included that.
