    Center Driiveshaft Bearing. Question??

    I Just replaced my center driveshaft bearing, I just realized that I didnt tighten the driveshaft lock nut thing that you have to loosen to take the driveshaft apart. Its tight but I never torqued it down. Do you think this will hurt anything? It makes sense to me that it wouldnt but I just want to make sure. Thanks

    I have tightened all the ones I have done by hand with no issues.

      The tightening of the drive shaft collar is just to compress the seal and keep water out of the aft portion of the drive shaft.

      As to replacement of the CSB, if it was replaced beause the rubber mount was torn/cracked and you didn't also replace the drive shaft the odds are that you'll be back into that area in the near future. In almost every case, a failure of the CSB is caused by binding u-joints in the drive shaft. Until the drive shaft is replaced the CSB is experiencing excessive loads and the replacement will soon fail. You may also still have vibrations as a result of the binding u-joints.

        My u-joints felt great. I still have a vibration though. Im gonna order a driveshaft and hopefully find a better geared LSD while Im at it. Probably also do the rear subframe, and other bushings, maybe even bille sports and h&r's. can anyone loan me $1000??

          you dont mention the guibo....which is a wear part, and very likely to be vibrating.
