will a auto from my 86es fit in a 94 525i, Im just wondering because I have a friend with a 525i I might buy as my DD. The auto tranny is blown in the car and he's not looking into fixing it, so I will if my tranny will fit. Later on when I can get the money a 5-speed swap will be done but for now a auto will have to do.

No, it has a 4L30E GM transmission, yours should be a ZF 4HP22
