Needed: Wood tech, a 5 speed and all associated doodads

Hey all, new around here and very impressed with the level of expertise.

I'm getting an 89 325i coupe shipped out to me very soon(if pre-purchase inspection goes well). It unfortunately is an auto. boohoo

Can't find the right car in 5-speed.

Anyway, I'm in NC (Raleigh) and I was thinking about getting a shop to do the swap but I realize many folks won't even touch it. Anyone know of a reputable tech that can do this for me in the area?

Also, what might I expect to pay for the labor?

I may end up doing the swap my self. I've wrenched around a bit and done some clutches in the past (non bmw) and have a good friend with a decent garage setup so it may go that way.

wish me luck, any input appreciated
