    CV Boot replacement

So i searched, and to no avail. The question is: Can i use the super cheap Raybestos boot kits from rockauto.com for $9 a piece or do I have to fork out the approx $200 for all four boot kits from Pelican??

    Thanks!

I wouldn't specifically select Raybestos, unless you *know* that they are repackaging a quality brand. You can get GKN (OEM, currently OOS at RMEuro) or EMPI (OK, USA-made, AutohausAZ) for under $10.

But now that we can buy new, albeit Chinese, axles for about $70 instead of $300, there isn't a good reason to re-boot. I've replaced the boots on four axles in the past few months (2 e30, Audi, and Honda) and each was their own special time consuming PITA. In contrast, the one where we bought a new axle took longer to pick up the part than to install. And far less time to clean up after.

Awesome. I talked to NAPA today, apparently there is ONE remanufactured CV shaft in the whole freaking country, and its in Virginia. But he told me he can check "another distributor" during the week when they are open.
