    quick pilot bearing question

I'm installing my pilot bearing, felt ring caps and cover currently and am unsure of the order in which they go in. Does the pilot bearing go in first, or do the cap, cover and felt ring go in before the bearing.

I checked Realoem.com and couldn't quite peice it together. My bently manual doesn't have any information on it either. Has anybody dealt with this before?

    Thanks

bearing goes in first, then felt and then washer/cover

the felt washer and cover aren't needed any longer when using sealed bearings.

sorry to revive such an old thread.. I ordered a genuine BMW pilot bearing and they also ordered me the felt washer and dust covers.. but the bearing itself is a sealed unit.

kinda odd.. And theres no reason to use the felt is there

looks like the unsealed bearing superceded to a sealed unit.. but they still offer the dust covers for some reason
