    e30 driveshaft compatibility

i have a 89' 325i coupe just put a new m20 in it and now my driveshaft u joints and CSB are giving me the ever apparent clunking underneath my e brake.

But i dont have the money for a rebuilt shaft, however i do have the driveshaft out of my old 91' 318is, but thats a m42....but somewhere i thought i maybe read it works if it has the later transmission?

    please halp!

Look up the prt numbers on realoem.com and see if they are the same.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I'm pretty sure the 325i and 318i driveshafts are different

      not 100% tho

M42 drive shaft is longer than an M20 one.

        Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

When you find out where, slap them.

              Definitely totally different.

If your CSB is bad you can buy a new one for like $30.
