Getrag 240

I just got a Getrag 240 in working order really cheap.

Will it fit a m30?

How about a m20?

I have just been given (e28) 528 sports, m30, auto its a good parts car.

I also have a 323 coupe (Auto) that i wanna make it better.

has anyone done something like this

No it won't fit on either of those engines.

In australia the 240 was fitted on the 320i and the early 318i.
i also have a 320i coupe, I know the gearbox will fit onto this.

Why wont it work with the bigger m20 motors? is the box a POS.

Is there anything worth doing to the box before i put it in a car, ie seals, bearings, shafts
