Loud Banding noise from drive shaft,

so I was driving my 325i vert today and suddenly I believe the drive shaft started banging the bottom of the car right underneath my console. The impacts were very hard and the noise didn't stop during my 10 mile drive. Anyone experience this? What should I check for? thanks for any help

Failed guibo, failed Center Support Bearing (CSB), failed u-joints in the drive shaft.

Of those only a failure of the guibo doesn't require replacement of the drive shaft.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

You mean removal? CSB isn't that tough of a job and definitely does not require driveshaft replacement.

In almost all cases a failure of the CSB will be caused by binding u-joints in the drive shaft. You can replace just the CSB and perhaps gain temporary relief, but the new CSB will soon fail. The only long term fix is to replace both the CSB & drive shaft.
