Where to buy a Performance Clutch?

the clutch in my 318 is starting to slip a bit, looking to upgrade in the fall probably. It's turbo'd so I'd like a performance clutch of some sort. Where is the best place/website to buy one?

    Thanks.

not sure what everyone else goes with but I have had the best luck with Spec, can't remember what stage I have but the pressure plate is kevlar on one side and normal on the other with alot more pressure, it was about $450 shipped from LMPerformance, stay away from ebay crap, puck clutches hold well but you lose alot of modulation, they're either on or off mostly and that sucks for anything but drag racing

i have a spec stage 3 in my 318. it grabs well. pretty linear, but can be annoying if you DD. My mom drove it, so i guess it just shows its not horrible. My engagement is right at the top. I love it, other people who drive it don't like it, but I'd rather not have to travel all the way to the floor to disengage the clutch. Basically, if you're not paying attention it can be annoying, but don't expect to be super smooth. after getting the hang of it every other clutch you'll drive will feel buttery soft.

yeah, and on the stock m10 it doesn't slip at all. maybe a little if I'm in 2nd gear and going 5mph and dump it from redline, but it's really not horrible.

A stage 3 clutch might be a bit much for a daily driver. They are a bit grabby with little motion between engaged and disengaged. Something a bit less agressive (a stage 1 or 2) would be easier to live with. Spec and ClutchMasters both offer excellent high performance clutches.

a stage 2 SPEC clutch is rated at a max of 239ft/lbs torque while I think I've probably got a bit more. I was thinking stage 3, which is 290... but is it uncomfortable to drive?

I have a Spec stage 3 on my Audi. It is a 6 puck with a sprung hub. I also am running an aluminum flyuwheel- which I love. The stage 3 is just a little grabby. I first thought it was the aluminum wheel, but another friend rand the same setup with an aluminum fw and a Spec Stage 2 "Plus" and it was a more street friendly clutch.

For a while people on an Audi forum was trash talking Spec and praising Southbend, but now that they have been put to the test, there are some issues there too. EIther one is good.

I know another guy running a similar setup to mine, but has the Stage 3 Plus and says it is easier to drive than his old Stage 3.

I would call Spec, as they have a lot of combinations which aren't in their catalog.

so generally, a stage 3 clutch isn't comfortable for city driving?

Correct. It can be managed, but a Stage 1 or Stage 2 will be a much more pleasant experience.

Then you'll have to learn to live with an abrupt and grabby clutch.

Stage 3 Plus is much more manageable on the street. I'm surprized nobody here has had any experience with them. My pedal effort was the same as stock with a Stage 3, but the dual friction material made it grabby.

Call Spec since they are the experts. There seems to be very little input on here.
