    starter nut stuck inside gearbox!!!!

    Well replacing my starter today, my buddy dropped the nut that holds it down inside the gearbox (where the flywheel and clutch is.. is there a way to get this out without pulling the engine back out and gearbox of the back?? Quick answers please am going to pull the motor first thing in the morning if theres nothing else.. :sad::sad::sad::sad::sad:

      You might be able to fish it out through the starter port. The trick, unless you have a borescope, is figuring out where it is in the bell housing. Unless it got caught between the flywheel and engine, it should drop out if you separate the engine and transmission.

        If it comes down to it, it is easier to pull the transmission then the engine??

          You probably don't have to completely remove the transmission to get the nut out. Unbolt it and slide it back an inch and you should be able to get the nut out. So yes that would be easier than pulling the engine.

            Depending on the miles on the clutch, if I had it that far out I would pull it all the way and at least inspect the clutch, pilot bearing, TO bearing, and replace that plastic pivot tit.

              Everything is new,, i havent turned the motor over since it went in,, im gonna try with the magnet like someone said here above,,
