    guibo bolt

for some reason i guess i forgot to tighten one guibo bolt and it fell, now i have been experiencing an crazy vibration after 40mph.
is this what may be causing the vibration???
if so does anybody know what are the size and thread of the bolt and nut so i can put it back before anything else messes up.

Yes that could definitely cause vibrations. Sorry, don't know the size off hand.

Well that's good because you wouldn't want to use a copper bolt...

A home depot grade 8.8 bolt isn't strong enough dude I wouldn't leave that in there for long if you want to get it out.

The hardware that is supposed to be used is 10.9 grade.

do what i did. hit the junkyard and get all six bolts. the guibo on my car now is actually from the junkyard and it was in great condition. now I have extra bolts

I feel like my car has the same problem. I experience a bad vibration after 60mph and hear a sound as if I have a nail in my tire up near the front driverside wheel. Accelaration is fine up until 60mph but after that if feels dangerous. A couple days ago it sounded like something fell off. Does it sound like I have the same problem here?

the problem is i keep finding the 10mm bolts and my car takes a 12mm ones, with the big Guibo.
i dont know if it fits.
also my tranny is going out of service, and there is a 86 eta in the junkyard. now i know for sure it has the sheet metal shifter. in order to put it in my eta do i need to change the tranny flange to accomodate for my big guibo or is it direct swap.

if so i'll can just wait for a late i tranny which would be a direct swap.

Home depot FTL. I had the same issue when I was completing the underside of my car. A buddy turned me on to this place, which is nearby to me: http://www.metricscrew-toolco.com/
I handed the guy one each of the old nut/bolt sets and he went out back for about 6 minutes. He returned with everything I needed. Pull a google search and see if you have anything similar in your area. The bolts & nuts were only cents each and it's definately better than putting your faith in a fastner you snatched from the bone yard.

I used grade 8 steel bolts on my guibo.

They bent and made changing it a pain in the ass.

The flex disk bolts are 54mm long if they clamp a vibration damper, and 50mm without. They are grade 10.9, so you won't find them at the corner store.
                          26-11-1-209-498 Hex bolt, M10x50mm 10.9, now 26-11-1-225-054, $2.42/1.94
                          26-11-1-225-744 Hex bolt, M10x54 10.9-PHR 4.68/3.74

Bolts can be reused if they are straight and haven't stretched (check that a new non-locking M10 nut spins freely). The self-locking nuts should always be replaced.
                          07-12-9-964-672 Self-locking hex nut for flex disk and diff, M10, 6@, $0.25

Note that some cars use a splined shoulder bolt/stud that's pressed into the transmission flange.

im telling you though i have the bigger guibo and bolt. and they are m12.

also i understand the 10.9 grade, however they have stamped on them 8.8 and i found one at the junkyard that is also 8.8.
