    4.10 swap

Hi guys. Doing an s38 into my 86 325es, which has a 2.93 lsd right now-to long. I have a 4.10 lsd from an e34 535i auto in an e34 case on the shelf from my e34 days. I have a friend with a small case 4.10 lsd from his 318is. Can I out my 4.10 medium case internals into my buddy's small case ? I just wanna swap the lsd unit, not the center shaft that connects to the driveshaft. Since the small case is a 4.10 already I assume it would match up ? And can I even fit it inside the small case ?

I'm pretty sure you cannot do that.

Wait for someone to confirm though.

Even if you can, I would not do that. A small case behind an S38 will not last long.

This idea is on hold for now. Gunna get the car running on the 2.93 and see.

No, but you can put the E34 typ 188 ring and pinion into your existing 325es 188 housing.
