Buy new CSB for the year of the car or year of the drive shaft?

If I were to put a drive shaft from a 90 325i in my 87 325i do I need the CSB for the 90 or the 87? Are the drive shafts the same and the CSB changes or are the driveshafts or is it all different? Thanks for any responses guys.

I dont know if they are different, but either way, you would match it to the shaft.

Do you know why they are different? Is the bodywork under the car different? I have a good 87 CSB but not a 90 :(

No, buy it for the YEAR OF CAR.

Early and late model are different. E30 CSB is also a direct fit on E36 driveshafts if you're doing a 24v setup.
