    Loud clunk in Reverse

I have a five speed. And whenever I back up I here a loud clunk but this only happens in reverse, also the clutch doesn't have to be engaged even when I'm in neutral and just backing up I still here the clunk. All other gears shift smooth and work just fine. Can it be a driveshaft problem or what?

This could be bad transmission/motor mounts, wear in the drive shaft, wear in the differential, bad half shafts, bad trailing arm bushings, bad subframe bushings, bad differential bushing or a combination of faults. A through inspection should reveal likely causes.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Lol, mine always klunks when I shift into reverse unless I do it slowly, always thought it was the nature of the beast.
